“God Only Knows” covered by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
Discovered Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. during their live set on Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW (yay NPR!!!) on my morning drive today. This duo from Detroit, Michigan got my ears hooked on their music arrangements that are full and grand.
Then host Jason Bentley asks the duo about their upcoming full length album titled It’s a Corporate World. They revealed that the title is a reference to Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission (2010) in which the Supreme Court ruled that corporations could basically be treated as individuals, allowing them to fund politicians in the campaign trail without limits, and then touched on how this is a danger to our democracy.
